This book is about the spiritual experiences of a remarkable group of people. They did not belong to a sect or denomination or even a congregation, but the author discovered as she was led from one memoir to another and from diaries and letters that there was a divine interweaving of the lives of persons as diverse in occupation as an art tutor, a coal miner, a Cambridge graduate, six daughters of a clergyman, a tea merchant, a farm laborer’s wife, a French court musician, a shoemaker, and others. Of course, their experiences were varied, but a mutual love in the unity of the Spirit bound them together under the teaching of Christ in their hearts.
This book clearly demonstrates that the teaching of Christ, like Himself, is “the same yesterday, today and forever,” May the reader find an echo to these truths in his own heart.
