“He writes like an earnest, faithful man, resolved to keep back nothing of the counsel of God; … He is always worth consulting.” — C H Spurgeon
For nearly seven years Nicholas Byfield (1579–1622) preached every week from Colossians. This massive commentary is based on those 300-plus sermons. It was first published in London in 1615 and reprinted in 1617, 1627, 1628, and 1649. In 1869, the book was included in Nichol’s series of standard divines. Byfield’s contemporaries considered the work a clear and faithful exposition of Paul’s epistle.
