The main events of the Bible are taught chronologically in 163 lessons. The expository thoughts faithfully convey the riches of Scripture as they have been understood by those who adhere to the Reformed Confessions. The student is directed to the unifying historical/redemptive theme that is progressively revealed in the Bible. It shows that it is "His Story" - the grand story of redemption wrought by Christ to restore lost mankind to Himself. An appeal is made to the student's mind, heart, and life. Appropriate Scripture memory verses for three age levels are included.
The aim of this commentary is to reach children and youth with the Word of God in various settings: in the family, church, day school, the mission firled, outreach activities, and wherever they can be reached. The purpose of this commentary is that both experienced and inexperienced teachers are directed to a richer understanding of Scripture and use it as a resource to teach the Bible to any group. It is sent forth with the prayer that it will be useful to teach the young to see their need of the Savior, Jesus Christ, respond to Him in faith, and live a life of thankful, obedient service to the glory of God.
