Christians should be well grounded in the faith ‘which was once for all delivered to the saints’ (Jude 3). We should know what we believe, why we believe it, and the scriptural basis for our beliefs. In this book, Timothy Cross provides a ‘primer’ in the key doctrines of Christianity as he explains each line of the Apostles’ Creed, one of the clearest and most succinct distillations of the Christian faith ever written. Whether you are a Christian of many years’ standing, a new Christian, or just interested in the Christian faith, read this book to gain a firmer grounding in the fundamentals of biblical Christianity.

Author  Timothy Cross comes from Cardiff, Wales, and has lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied Theology at Cardiff University and then trained as an RE and Games teacher at Aberystwyth University. He is the author of over twenty Christian books and numerous articles in Christian periodicals. In 2002 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Sacred Literature by the Christian Bible College, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in recognition of his written ministry. Dr Cross has a preaching/Bible teaching ministry and since 1989 has broadcast a monthly Bible-based message on the South Wales Talking Magazine. His life’s passions include biblical languages, distance running and the beaches of South Wales.

Endorsements  "Timothy Cross has a passion for making truth both interesting and infectious. This exploration of the Apostles’ Creed is an example of his love for the Bible and his desire to make it relevant to today’s generation. I thoroughly recommend this volume." — Dr Derek W. H. Thomas, Professor of Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, USA

"The Apostles’ Creed is one of the forgotten treasures of the church. Once known by almost every Christian and recited regularly in almost every church, it is now at best neglected and at worst unknown. Yet this great summary of the essence of the Bible’s teaching has been the guardian of what constitutes true Christianity since the days of the Church Fathers. Dr Cross has done today’s church an enormous service by providing this re-introduction to the Creed in a way that is both accessible and warmly applied. It is guaranteed to surprise in the best possible way." — Revd Mark Johnston, Grove Chapel, London, England
