This concluding volume of Charnock's writings focuses on the truths which convey eternal life and the characteristics of that way of life which commends them. The greatness of Christ in his death and exaltation as the object of our faith, man's enmity to God and God's mercy to sinners are the truths explored. The way of life which illustrates and commends these truths is shown in its individual, social and national aspects. This cameo of Puritan preaching needs to find a counterpart in pulpits today.
