The Lord our Righteousness: The Old Perspective on Paul
Description
Publisher's Description: In this never-before reprinted work, Grew speaks directly to the issue of the imputation of Christ’s righteousness in the act of justification. With zeal and clarity, he shows from Scripture that man’s justification before God is not dependent on any righteousness inherent in him, but wholly in the righteousness of Christ imputed to the believer..
About the Author
Obadiah Grew (1607-1689) graduated from Balliol College, Oxford, in 1629. He co-pastored a church with the renowned Richard Vines, but resigned his position in 1662 because of the Act of Uniformity. Grew's non-conformity kept him from pastoring, but not from teaching. He taught young men personally and trained them for the gospel ministry. By 1682 he had become blind, and spent six months in prison for continuing to preach. While in jail, he dictated a sermon every week ot be read in churches. Grew died in 1689.
